The Life Skills offered at the Centre
are adapted to individual need and therefore cover many areas depending on ability. Initially when a referral is received
for a placement within the Life Skills Department a full assessment is completed with informational obtained from all concerned
parties including the individual parents carers and professionals. An individual programme is desinged which addresses the
areas identified in the assesment document.
Activities undertaken include :
Basic Independence
Accessing the community including Shops Library Post Office etc
Public Transport
Preparation for interviews i.e. College Employment
Cookery and Household Skills
Numeracy
Literacy
Finance
Progress is reviewed on a regular
basis and goals are amended accordingly.
